How it works
One sentence in. A gift idea you'll still have in December.
Hear it
Someone mentions a thing they love, need, or keep meaning to buy. A sentence is enough.
Say it
Type it, dictate it, or tell Siri. No form, no fields to fill in.
Check it and keep it
Hints shows what it understood. Fix anything, tap Save, and it is filed under that person with their sizes and dates.
Is it private?
Your notes are about people you love. They stay yours.
Apple Intelligence reads each note, and Private Cloud Compute is built so that no one, Apple included, can read what it processes. Hints sends your notes nowhere else.
No account
Nothing to sign up for. Open the app and write.
No Hints server
We don't run a server that receives your notes, so there is nothing of yours for us to read.
Your own iCloud
Your people and hints sync between your devices through your own iCloud, not through us.
It doesn't invent gift ideas.
It remembers the real ones.
Gift generators guess what someone of a certain age might like. Hints keeps what your sister actually said in July, in her words, so when her birthday comes round the idea is already there.
Who makes it
Hints is made by Laslo, an independent iOS developer in Ukraine. It started with a familiar problem: the best gift ideas come up in conversation, and by the time the birthday arrives they're gone.
