Common questions
Which iPhones does Hints work on?
Hints needs iOS 26 or later. Reading notes uses Apple Intelligence, which needs an iPhone that supports it, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings.
Which languages does it understand?
English. Hints keeps the words exactly as you wrote them; it doesn't rewrite or translate them.
Hints read my note wrong. What do I do?
Nothing is filed until you check it. On the review sheet, change the person, the gift idea, the date or a detail, then tap Save. If Hints keeps getting a kind of note wrong, write to us with an example; it helps us fix it.
Why didn't Hints pick the right person?
Hints matches the name in your note against your contacts and the people already in Hints. Choose the right person on the review sheet once, and Hints remembers that name for them next time.
Do my notes sync between devices?
Yes, through your own iCloud, if iCloud is turned on for Hints. A note you have saved but not yet checked stays on the iPhone where you wrote it until you review it.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a person, hint, fact or occasion from that person's page in Hints. To remove everything, delete the app, then go to Settings → your name → iCloud and delete the Hints data stored there. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Your data lives on your iPhone and in your iCloud.
